Shores Of Null have just released the third single from forthcoming album The Loss of Beauty. The single ‘My Darkest Years’ is a melancholic reflection of stories told to the band’s guitarist Raffaele Colace by his grandfather, a WWII veteran.
Raffaele says: “My grandfather was taken prisoner in Russia, but he managed to escape and he traveled to Greece, where he hid for a few years in the countryside. In his stories, he told me of a woman that brought him a piece of bread every now and then, thus saving him from hunger. Although he managed to return to his family in Italy, sorrow never left him for the rest of his life. Whenever he recalled these memories, his eyes were full of tears.”
The Loss of Beauty is the fourth album from the Italian doom masters, following on quickly from Beyond the Shores. It is set for release on 24 March, via Spikerot Records. You can pre-order here. You can enjoy the video for new single ‘My Darkest Years’ right here.
