RUÏM set for UK debut at Fortress Fest 2025

RUÏM – the band that features iconic former Mayhem guitarist and Vltimas founder, Blasphemer – will make their eagerly-awaited UK debut at next year’s Fortress Festival. The recent inaugural event was a tremendous success, featuring the likes of Triptykon, Wolves in the Throne Room and Der Weg einer Freiheit.

Next year’s renewal back at Scarborough Spa is on the weekend of 31 May – 1 June. This will be a UK debut and exclusive performance from RUÏM, and follows the news of Agalloch performing a 2025 European exclusive headlining show; their first in the UK since the band’s reformation and the first in the UK since 2015.

Standard weekend tickets for Fortress Festival are now on sale here.

RUÏM was formed in early 2020, driven by a firm desire to revisit the style of music Blasphemer has dedicated himself to and been associated with since the mid-90s. Joining Blasphemer is French-born drummer César Vesvre (Agressor, Thagirion).

The project was inspired by the rediscovery of a long-lost tape of old, unused Mayhem-era riffs (post Wolf’s Lair Abyss), a new vision for an album immersed in Brazilian witchcraft and the left hand path of the Umbanda tradition, a practice in which Blasphemer himself is taught in. The result was Black Royal Spiritism – I – O Sino da Igreja, RUÏM’s debut studio album. It presents a glimpse of something new, unique, visionary and highly eclectic.

Early bird tickets have sold out quickly following the Agalloch announcement and Fortress Festival is now 50% sold out. Get your tickets now here.
