Symphonic death metallers from Greece Septicflesh (formerly known as Septic Flesh) have finished recording their new album. The band’s ninth full-length, whose title is yet to be revealed, will be released this summer from record label Season Of Mist.
The successor to 2011’s The Great Mass will consist of 10 songs recorded partly in the band’s Devasoundz Studios in Athens and partly in Prague, Czech Republic featuring the Prague Philarmonic Orchestra and Choir. The album was mixed by Logan Mader (Cavalera Conspiracy, Fear Factory, Gojira). Septicflesh comment on the recordings: “We are really exhausted, but also very proud from the result. We worked very hard with Logan Mader to bring you the ultimate death metal soundtrack for your darkest dreams. The compositions are progressive with a lot of emotional peaks, while at the same time the songs sound very aggressive. Also we had the chance to work for the first time with a full children choir, beside the regular adult choir, and that helped us dive deeper into darker cinematic atmospheres.”
Septicflesh are currently on their Japanese tour with Svart Crown, Fenrir and Claret Ash. Meanwhile, singer/bassist and visual artist for Septicflesh, Seth Siro Anton, is running his personal exhibition at Vanilla Gallery in Tokyo, which ends on 15 February 2014.
