Selim Lemouchi, multi-instrumentalist and mastermind behind occult-rockers The Devil’s Blood and Selim Lemouchi and His Enemies has been reported dead as of 5 March 2014.
Word spread out in other artists’ social media around 3pm on Wednesday 5 March 2014 around Selim Lemouchi. The scene remained foggy for some time, until more informative posts started coming along.
Swedish rockers Ghost B.C. wrote: “Children of the World! We want to pay homage to our friend Selim Lemouchi (The Devil’s Blood and his own Selim Lemouchi & His Enemies) who has passed away and left the world one great talent poorer. R.I.P.”
Manuel Tinnemans of Comaworx, who was working on the artwork for an upcoming EP from The Devil’s Blood, published the unfinished work and wrote: “I was still working on this piece… meant for the last ep ’66:2′ … Unfortunately he never even got to see it as he gave me full freedom to do what was given to me and never wanted to intervene as he felt it might harm the creative process… Goddammit brother….Goddammit… This one’s for YOU!!! Will never forget….”
Valnoir from the Metastazis graphic studio in Paris wrote: “Selim Lemouchi was not my friend per se, I just met him a couple of times, neither Metastazis had to opportunity to work with him, sadly. We learnt today the tragic news of his loss. He was a global artist, visionary and above the mass, sincere to the bones in what he was doing. Farewell, your work won’t be forgotten. V.”
Saturnalia Temple posted a video of The Devil’s Blood with the sole comment: “No Words. All Heart!”
Selim Lemouchi and His Enemies’ page has as of yet made no announcements.
So we wait.
