All great things must come to an end, and so does the musical relationship between J. Read and Pete Helmkamp, the studio and original members behind Canadian war machine Revenge. For 10 years this trio have been bombarding our senses with their barrage of inhuman anti-human chaos. Read’s otherworldly vocals combined with Helkamps signature growls were a savage offensive when twinned together, only speculation awaits for the future. Helkamp commented on the breakup: “After several conversations with J. Read regarding the individual musical direction that he and I have each chosen, I have decided to quit Revenge. The last ten years have been a great experience, and I wish James and Chris the best in their future endeavors.”
But this does not spell the end for Revenge, not by a long shot. Vermin (live guitars and vocals) commented on the Nuclear War Now! forum: “Revenge will continue on with its current strength as planned. New album to be recorded next month, and tours will follow.”
