“Be prepared for Diabolical Death Musick” commented Belphegor founding member, guitarist and vocalist Helmuth Lehner, in the wake of the decision to delay the release date of their as-of-yet untitled new album. Nuclear Blast Records will be releasing the follow-up to 2011’s Blood Magick Necromance in 2014.
The album, for which the “drum, bass and guitars are [already] tracked]”, is “brutal, more aggressive and more death than what was heard on the last LPs. The soundwall is massive – just as expected.” The vocals will be recorded in June/July, and the mixing and mastering will be done in September.
Confirmed song titles include ‘Take Her, Lucifer!’, ‘The Inverted Cross’ and ‘Gasmask Terror’. Perhaps we will get a preview of the new stuff during the band’s appearance on the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock Open Air 2013.
