Swedish gods of grind Nasum have announced a limited number of farewell gigs for 2012, including their first-ever tour of North America.
.
The performances will mark their 20th anniversary and end the final chapter of the band’s existence.
.
Fellow speed freaks Brutal Truth and seminal hardcore unit Dropdead will join Nasum on the US jaunt for Midwest and East Coast dates, before the Swedes co-headline the 10th annual Maryland Deathfest.
.
Nasum will then embark on a set of West Coast dates with support from Black Breath, Froms Ashes Rise, Massgrave, and more, and conclude the highly anticipated run with a performance at Chaos In Tejas in Austin, Texas.
.
Anders Jakobson and Jesper Liverod commented: “So, farewell America. We mean it. These are the gigs that will sew our mouths shut. No turning back, no regrets, no apologies — we offer nothing but blastbeats and good times. This is about making grindcore a threat once and for all. This first leg of the last tour is ironically also the first tour Nasum leads in North America. Barring the infamous ‘Contamination’ tour in 1999, and a bit of chaos at the Milwaukee Metalfest in 2001, North America is untouched by our blasting. Kind of weird, considering Nasum’s most dedicated following always came from Canada and the U.S.”
.
In addition to the North American run, the band has also confirmed appearences at 12 festivals in Europe, including Wacken, Hellfest, and Obscene Extreme amongst others.
.
Rotten Sound screamer Keijo Niinimaa has been recruited on vocals for the forthcoming dates.
