Legendary (not to mention hugely influential) goths Fields Of The Nephilim are set to perform the acclaimed ‘The Nephilim’ in its entirety this December.
Originally released in 1988 the album, which features their biggest hit ‘Moonchild’ alongside classic Nephilim tracks ‘The Watchman’, ‘Chord Of Souls’, Love Under Will’ and ‘Last Exit For The Lost’, saw the band cement themselves at the forefront of the alternative music scene and become one of the biggest live acts of their day. The Nephilim were infamous for their atmospheric live shows, in part due to the ritualistic throwing around of flour (yes, the stuff you bake with) by their fans. By their own admission, the band made good use of the Mother’s Pride brand of flour to achieve their weather beaten look for photoshoots.
This is the first time that Fields Of The Nephilim will have ever performed one of their albums in full live, and to mark the occasion original bassist Tony Pettit has rejoined the band to make this a real celebration of their music and enormous legacy. The band will be performing tracks from across their entire career, including the likes of ‘Psychonaut’ and ‘Dawnrazor’ (which sports one of the greatest album covers of the genre going).
Full tour dates are shown below, and it’s worth noting that co-headliners, The Mission, will also be performing their own classic set on the tour.
