FAITH NO MORE: PATTON CASTS CLOUD OF DOUBT OVER NEW MATERIAL

Since the San Franciscan quintet reformed in 2009 there has been much talk of new material being released, mainly by fans desperate for the band to bring out their first offering since 1997’s ‘Album of the Year’. There was some new spark to the rumours in the late part of last year, when the band performed a ‘mystery’ song at various festivals. Said song ‘Matador’ (as it is referred to) however, might be the extent of any new forays into writing new material according to the band’s vocal wizard Mike Patton. In an interview with News.com.au earlier this week, Patton commented:

“We’re pretty happy with just touring. There was talk, ‘Should we write new stuff?’ and we all looked at each other and said ‘Nahhh, f— it.’ We did work up one new little thing [Matador] and that was really energising.”

Looks like we’ll just have to be content with things the way they are for the time being. If you still haven’t heard it, you can see a live performance of ‘Matador’ here.
