Progressive metallers Cynic have announced their new album ‘Kindly Bent To Free Us’ will be released on February 14 next year via Season Of Mist.

Despite previously claiming the album would be getting an Autumn 2013 release, things obviously got pushed back, Paul Masvidal working with Jim Carrey on a children’s book and accompanying four-song album and drummer Sean Reinert currently touring Europe with Death To All until 30 November.

Announcing it on Facebook the band said: “The wait is soon over. Here’s your look at the cover of Cynic’s new album ‘Kindly Bent to Free Us’. Available worldwide on Valentine’s Day, 14 February.”

Sean Reinert previously stated in another online post: “Some people are gonna be pissed and others are gonna say ‘thank you!!!’ I’m with the latter!”

He added: “It’s a bold new sound for Cynic and marks a gigantic leap in the band’s progression.”

That’s right, the Floridians will be bringing out their third album on Valentine’s Day next year, so anyone still stuck for gift ideas now has no excuse.
