The musical collective of Corrections House, featuring Mike IX Williams (EyeHateGod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and their minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury, have announced a one-off London show scheduled for Saturday, 12 April 2014 at Birthday’s. Tickets are available here.
This particular show comes directly after the band’s appearance at this year’s Roadburn, where the group not only performed as whole, but will take the stage in their own individual units on Friday, 11 April at Het Patronaat in Haarlem, Netherlands. Each of the four members of will perform an individual solo set, with possible back-up from the others as deemed necessary by the performer.
Corrections House formed in 2012 and, in between sporadic touring, released the “Hoax the System/Grin with a Purpose” single in April 2013, followed up with a proper full-length, “Last City Zero”, later in October. Described as ” a meeting of minds and ideologies that sees all four members incorporating their obvious individual talents and voices but simultaneously carving paths away from the sounds for which they are usually known,” their live spectacle is somewhat improv, with each of the four members showcasing his own talent with the other three as back-up, with the music being directed as the band sees fit.
