BLOODSTOCK 2017: MORE BANDS ADDED!

Ester SegarraMore bands for Bloodstock 2017 were announced the other day, and it’s fair to say that it’s all looking pretty positive so far, especially since we’re yet to see a headlining slot announced for festival mascots Evil Scarecrow – it’s bound to happen some time, perish the thought!

Anyway, pushing that worrying thought aside for a moment, it’s better news that with a new album coming via Relapse Records in Spring 2017, Floridian death metallers Obituary have secured a Sunday slot on the main stage. In case you didn’t catch it, they recently released the Ten Thousand Ways To Die CD which featured two brand new studio tracks, and a full live set from the Inked In Blood World Tour.  As you cheer their addition to the bill you can check out a taste of what’s to come on that new studio album via brand new track ‘Loathe’:

Next announced are Poland’s Decapitated, who’ll be playing on the Friday – though we’re unclear which stage they’ll be gracing with their blend of tech/death metal right now. Guitarist/founder Vogg comments: “We’re very excited to be returning to Bloodstock Festival – it will have been three years since our last time.  We’re currently in the studio getting ready to unleash the monster we’ve been working on for the past 12 months and can’t wait to play some Polish metal for our UK fans next Summer!” Jolly good.

Last in the list are none other than Mexican-American agitators Brujeria who’ll be joining the main stage following the recent release of their first album in 16 years: Pocho Aztlan via Nuclear Blast – and you can check out the video for ‘Vive Presidente Trump’ below.

Already announced for 2017 are Friday’s headliners Amon Amarth, plus Blind Guardian, Hatebreed, Testament, Whitechapel, Possessed and Hell.  Many more are still to be announced and we’ll be updating with more news on Bloodstock as it becomes available.
