YOB’S ‘CATHARSIS’ GETS VINYL RE-RELEASE

Catharsis, the second LP first released in 2003 by modern doom masters Yob, received top-notch treatment for a vinyl reissue through Relapse Records – it has been over six years out of print.

Official re-release dates are:

28 February 2014 (Germany/Benelux/Finland)

3 March 2014 (UK/World)

4 March 2014 (North America)

Oregon based Yob are explorers infused with philosophy and awareness, they are of-the-cosmos, and as it says: “Yob is love.” Catharsis, three tunes clocking in at 50 minutes, are audio narratives that bridge the gap between classic and now-the-future doom metal. The album was re-mastered by Tad Doyle (Brothers of the Sonic Cloth/Tad) with new artwork by Aaron Edge (Lumbar), and updated liner notes from guitarist/vocalist Mike Scheidt. There are four different color-vinyl versions and if you act now, available is a deluxe mail-order edition limited to 300 copies that comes with an 18 x 24 black light poster.

Side note: Yob will be headlining the Roadburn Festival’s Afterburner party on 13 April 2014 in The Netherlands.
