Lou Reed backing-band METALLICA kick-started their week-long 30th anniversary celebration yesternight at the Fillmore in San Francisco. The band were joined on-stage by guests Jason Newsted (Voivod, ex-Metallica), John Marshall (Metal Church), Sean Harris (Diamond Head), Brian Tatler (Diamond Head), Biff Byford (Saxon) and Apocalyptica.
James Hetfield comments: “It is a fan celebration — everyone who’s come along the Metallica ride for 30 years — and we’re constantly wanting to give to the fans what they don’t normally get from some other band or some other connection, so these four shows at the Fillmore are something like that.”
