Text messages from Death In June

Tsunami Edizioni, an independent publishing house based in Italy specialising in books regarding music and all its related cultures/subcultures, has announced the release of ‘Nascosto Tra Le Rune’ (Hidden Among The Runes), the official biography of the controversial and legendary British group Death In June. The book has been written by long time music journalist and DIJ fan Aldo Chimenti with the help of DIJ mastermind Douglas P.

The finished work is a huge 420-pages-long effort, and offers an in-depth analysis of themes, connections, historical and personal events related to the story and opus of Death In June (with three chapters devoted to the Crisis era), interspersed by excerpts from a long interview that was conducted specifically for this book and spans the whole of Douglas P.’s career so far.

Whilst the book is written in Italian, it is heavily illustrated throughout and includes two 16 page full-colour photo sections. The vast majority of the illustrations and photographs are straight from the personal archives of Douglas P., with many previously unseen. The book also includes an audio CD which features an Engligh language radio interview with Douglas P., plus eight tracks culled from the DIJ canon and some jingles and Radio ID’s and adverts used to promote Death In June performances, none of which have never been published on CD before. The audio CD is exclusive to the Italian edition of ‘Nascosto Tra Le Rune’ and at present no English or other foreign language editions of the book are planned.
..

‘Nascosto Tra Le Rune’ is limited to a total print run of one thousand numbered copies. The first 199 copies are published in a special deluxe hardback edition with dustjacket, alas this is already sold out on preorders alone. Copies numbered from 200 to 1000 come in a high quality softcover binding with flaps. The book is available directly from Tsunami Edizioni as well as from selected retailers worldwide. We’d recommend you Google Linguaphone if you don’t read Italian…
