Through Paradise Lost and then Vallenfyre, the work of Gregor Mackintosh has come with a quality endorsement built in. His latest project Strigoi won plenty of admirers with 2019 debut album Abandon All Faith.
Now the blackened death doom outfit are releasing new single ‘Hollow’, complete with video which we’re delighted to bring you right here. The track is taken from the band’s upcoming sophomore album Viscera, set for release on 30 September via Season of Mist.
If you like what you see, and we reckon you will, you can pre-order the album here.
Strigoi commented on their choice of pre-release music: “We chose this track as the first video single as it lends itself perfectly to giving the listener a broad overview of Viscera. It’s dark, brooding yet violent cinematic qualities allude to the delightful misery contained within the new album. A scathing commentary on human weakness, we feel ‘Hollow’ typifies the evolution of Strigoi, as a band and as a concept.”
The song also proves a perfect fit for the wonderful videography of Dehn Sora, who has presented a remarkable visual interpretation of the track.
