Inevitably, Damnation Festival’s 2021 lineup has undergone a lot of changes since its first Covid doomed incarnation. While it’s a terrible shame that so many bands from lands other than this fair isle have been forced to cancel, it’s a very bright day for British bands. Recent announcements relay that none other than Carcass and Paradise Lost (who are set to play Gothic in its entirety!) are stepping up to headline what’s turning out to be an impressive display of musical might.
Sadly, if you don’t have tickets already, you’re all out of luck as it is very much sold out, with a huge waiting list to boot. However, as we write this, there are still tickets availble for the Friday pre-Damnation ‘A Night Of Salvation’ event, which sees Orange Goblin playing their 25 years of British Rock & Heavy Metal set and Akercocke blasting out a set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘The Goat Of Mendes’. Raging Speedhorn and Svarlbard join in with their own performances. This special event is held on Bonfire night (5 November 2021), in the Refectory at Leeds University Union, costing a mere £25.
