Relapse Records were happy to announce the signing of Ohio’s Ringworm to their artist roster this week.  The band will no doubt be a perfect fit for the label, joining the company of such heavyweights as Devourment, Dying Fetus, and Brutal Truth.  Commenting on the signing, vocalist Human Furnace stated “Throughout our existence I’ve felt that RINGWORM has always been the ‘black sheep,’ never quite fitting into any specific genre mold. Sometimes too metal for hardcore, other times too hardcore for metal. We enjoy distorting the line between the two and, often, completely destroying it. But I’ve always felt that we’ve never quite had a home that understood where we’re coming from and embraced the fact what we are a ‘black sheep’ and we aren’t cookie-cut bullshit. We feel that we finally found that home. They understand that there are legions of black sheep out there that don’t fit into society’s ‘one size fits all’ mold. We couldn’t be more excited to be more working with Relapse [sic-ed].”

Formed in 1991, Ringworm’s brand of thrash/hardcore has devastated eardrums through 6 full-length albums and numerous split albums with artists such as Boiling Point, Cold as Life, and Mindsnare.  Additionally, the band has shared concert billings with the likes of Goatwhore, Nasum, and [the almighty – ed.] CroMags.  Currently, Ringworm are set to hit the road for roughly one week’s worth of live shows as well as an appearance in June with Cannibal Corpse and Napalm Death.
