Chilean disciples of epic/doom metal Procession are now working in Denmark on the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut album “Destroyers of the Faith”, which was realeased via High Roller Records (vinyl) and Doomentia Records (CD) last year.
“We´ve just finished 2 demos with Jonas (Pedersen, the band’s stand-in guitarist for Europe – ed) and it´s sounding pleasantly massive. For some special reason it feels the twin-guitar-attack is working as expected, delivering dynamics and textures without loosing those straight-forward traditional structures we´ve managed in the past. I can surely say we already have tracks number 2 and 5 for the album, as the feeling is speaking for itself”, reports the mastermind behind the band, vocalist and guitarist Felipe Plaza Kutzbach.
“Some lyrics are popping up too but no song titles yet, though I´m sure the demons I´m dealing with are more than interesting for those who embrace the dark side of heavy metal.
Expect only Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Solstice, Count Raven, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden worship, combined with the endless melancholy of the dead. Expect no mercy…”
Procession will play their debut UK show on October 1st at Full Moon Dog Fest in Bradford, created to honour the memory of Asomvel’s late frontman Jay Jay Winter, featuring also Asomvel, Solstice, Hooded Priest and some other names. Procession’s Chilean line-up will also do a short trek of their homeland in October.
