Alt-Fest has added another batch of bands to their ever-expanding festival as the line-up grows even more eclectic.
Yorkshire’s gothic doom peddlers Paradise Lost have been announced as Friday night headliners on the metal stage, while Casey Chaos’s recently reformed (since today) punk project Amen will be performing an exclusive set on Saturday’s main stage. Also added across the weekend are folk-metal fun lovers Finntroll, thrashers Savage Messiah, the aptly named Stormbringer, Krokodil, Mesh and electro/industrial noise makers Parade Ground and Agonoize.
Speaking about the announcement the organisers said: “We are very pleased to announce that Amen are to return and are playing Alt-Fest for a UK festival Exclusive show in 2014. We are stoked about this and have been working with Casey Chaos behind the scenes to bring the band to Alt-Fest for 2014. We also are thrilled to announce that Paradise Lost are confirmed as our final Metal Stage Headline act.”
With seven stages ranging from Industrial and Goth to Steampunk and the Circus Big Top, over 180 artists set to appear, a kid’s zone and various art and workshop activities, it truly is set to be the UK’s biggest alternative festival. The main stage headliners comprise of VNV Nation and UK festival exclusives from Marilyn Manson and The Cult, which may not be particularly ZT friendly [oi, oi, what’s wrong with The Cult!? – the Publisher], but look further down the bill and the likes of Arch Enemy, Satyricon, Onslaught stand out to show there really is something for everyone. And if there’s not, well don’t go!
Alt-Fest takes place at Boughton Estate, Kettering between August 15-17. Tickets are £115 in advance (including camping) or £195 for two and available here.
