Bay Area brutes Exodus have been forced to miss one of their dates on the upcoming Metal Alliance Tour after they were banned from playing a venue owned by the Disney Corporation.
The thrashers will not perform on the April 12th date of the tour, headlined by Anthrax, at the the House of Blues venue in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, a property owned by Disney.
Exodus commented, saying: “Because Disney has decided that Exodus is TOO METAL for them, we will NOT be playing the Lake Buena Vista [House Of Blues] show in Florida, but the fine thrash maniacs in Tampa have invited us to rage at the Orpheum instead. Who’s comin’ out for a Lesson in Violence?”
Disney have previously banned Machine Head from performing at the same venue in December 2012, as well as in two separate House Of Blues venues in 2007, but for the band’s “violent imagery,” “inflammatory lyrics” and the group’s “undesirable fans”, rather than their appalling music. That said, Machine Head’s fans are rather “undesirable”, so, spot on there, Disney.
Daath, The Faceless, Snot and Gallows have also been baned by the Walt Disney Corporation in the past, which, when you look at it also seem like good decisions. Who knew Mickey and the gang were barometers for shite metal?
Well hello there!
