Gothenburg boasts one of the best and most diverse metal scenes at the moment, with literal hordes of great bands having poured forth over the last ten or so years. Among this throng are Puteraeon, the glorious brainchild of mainman Jonas Lindblood, and their new video for ‘The Azathoth Cycle’, off their 2012 sophomore album ‘Cult Cthulhu’, is proof that they are without doubt worthy of representing Sweden’s music capital.
Speaking about the music and the band, Lindblood stated that “I started doing some riffs that took me back to my roots in death metal, the glorious early ’90s!”
The track, along with the rest of the album, was recorded at RZA Mobile Recording and was engineered by Kristian “Risza” Isaksson, who has worked with Evergrey, Psycore and Notre Dame. The album was mixed by Andy La Rocque of King Diamond at his own Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden.
‘Cult Cthulhu’ is the follow up to 2011’s ‘The Esoteric Order’.
