US one-man army Avichi led by Andrew Markuszewski (a.k.a. Aamonael) has completed work on a much awaited third studio album named Catharsis Absolute.
The following has been said about this cathartic effort: “In what will reveal itself as the ultimate work in the Avichi repertoire and within Markuszewski’s own body of work, Catharsis Absolute will push the sonic boundaries that the project’s mentor laid down through his thoughts on what true black metal is all about on the 2007 debut The Divine Tragedy and its follow-up The Devil’s Fractal dated from 2011. Catharsis Absolute is a glorious yet furious and moving black metal opus that shows Avichi at the height of its powers, laying down a foundation that will define Andrew Markuszewski as one of the most prominent visionaries within the US black metal scene.”

Catharsis Absolute was recorded at Wall-To-Wall studios by Andrew Ragin (Von, The Atlas Moth…) and mixed by renowned Chicago based producer Sanford Parker (Minsk, Yob, Yakuza, Nachtmystium). Due out via Profound Lore Records on 21 January 2014.
