How ironic – here’s a black metal musician dressed up as a Nazi who’s being intentionally funny!
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you: it’s Behemoth frontman Nergal as the notorious Third Reich big-wig Johann von Ribbentrop in, of all things, a new big-screen Polish comedy called AmbaSSador…
According to this news site, the film’s a sort of time travel affair that takes place in both 2012 and 1939. It centers on a pair of 20-somethings who move into a building in Warsaw that used to be the German Embassy during WW2 and somehow travel back in time while riding in its elevator.
And you know it’s going to be good because it’s been directed by Juliusz Machulski, a man whose filmography includes the the likes of Sex Mission, King Size and Girl Guide.
Anyway, Nergal’s casting in this swastika-heavy giggle-fest was announced last year on Polish radio, but the first clip of the movie only appeared on-line a couple of days ago.
Well, what are you waiting for? Have a look:

So, yeah – it’s well shot and everything but, not being able to speak Polish/German, the humor’s a bit lost on me. It could be seriously side-splitting or as ‘funny’ as the little-remembered ‘90s sitcom Heil Honey I’m Home! I just can’t tell.
In any case, the film’s due out in the second quarter of 2013 – hopefully they’ll produce a subtitled version, eh kids?
