If you like your sludge black, this one’s for you. Relapse Records announced yesterday that Mortals, the Brooklyn New York black sludge trio Mortals have signed on with them, and that come summer they will be heading to the studio to record the follow-up to their self-released EP, ‘Death Ritual’. The album will be their first full length since 2009’s ‘Encyclopedia of Myths’.
The group (Elizabeth Cline, Lesley Wolf and Caryn Havlik) had this to say about the signing: “It’s un believable that we now have the support and backing of a label like Relapse whose roster of incredible talent is one we’ve long followed. We’re so excited that this label is offering us the opportunity to share what we’re doing with the world. Pass the whiskey!”
