Industrial legends Ministry have unveiled their psychedelic new video for ‘PermaWar’, the first track taken from their forthcoming album, ‘From Beer to Eternity’, currently scheduled for a September 10th release. The video was recorded at front-man Al Jourgensen’s 13th Planet compound in El Paso, Texas, and directed by Zach Passero, whose previous work with Ministry includes, ‘LiesLiesLies’, ‘GhoulDiggers’ and ’99 Percenters’. Passero has also directed (one of Jourgensen’s many other projects) Revolting Cocks’ video ‘Fire Engine’, as well as the feature film ‘Wicked Lake’. Production duties for ‘PermaWar’ were handled by Angelina Lukacin-Jourgensen.
‘From Beer to Eternity’ is the last record to feature the guitar work of long serving six-stringer Mike Scaccia, who tragically died after suffering a heart attack playing live with his band Rigor Mortis in Dallas (TX), three days after finishing the rough tracking of ‘From Beer to Eternity’. Jourgensen commented at the time:
“I’m super proud of ‘From Beer To Eternity’, because it’s my tribute to Mikey’s incredible talent, and I feel it honors him and all of the years we spent together making music.”
‘From Beer to Eternity’ will also be the final chapter in the Ministry saga as Jourgensen will be definitely calling it quits (as far as Ministry is concerned). In a recent interview with loudwire the front-man commented:
“Not only is it Mikey’s last parting shot; it’s my last parting shot. I’m not doing another Ministry record without Mikey. Zero. None. I’m sure there will be some live thing or some greatest hits or some kind of crap like that coming out. That’s it. I think that’s our 15th … actually it’s our 12th album together or something, it’s time to get done.”
The digital release of ‘PermaWar’ is currently available on iTunes.
