Metalhit.com launch music services to “eliminate the need for a record deal”
Metalhit.com, the underground digital music store, has launched a music service to support qualified bands that want to go the independent route. Metalhit seeks to launch new emerging talent as well as established artists that desire more control over their music and income as a band.
Metalhit.com owner, Mike Riddick comments: “Our music services solution eliminates the need for a traditional record deal, yet provides the leveraging power and access to platforms used by traditional labels. Our services provide a full spectrum of support including merchandise and music manufacturing capabilities, strategic sales and marketing programs, art services, world-class digital and physical distribution and more. Our music services can offer artists greater profits than a traditional label, no long-term contracts, control of your music and access to industry leads not typically accessible by bands.”
Metalhit’s ambition is to replace what they regard as the “antiquated” record label model of business with a services approach that can help prop up independent artists and allow bands to focus on what they do best: creating music. They’ve recently signed a distribution deal with MRI/Megaforce for distribution through RED and have also recently secured UK distribution through Code 7/PHD and are in the process of securing distribution deals in the German, Italian and other global territories to help support the launch of its music
Metalhit.com has evidenced a flexibility to bend with modern changes in the music industry, such as their offering of $4.99 full digital album downloads in their Mp3 store.
