West Virginian doom peddlers Brimstone Coven have signed a deal with Metal Blade Records to release their self-titled debut album proper through the label this summer.
Formed in 2011 the band self-released their first full-length soon afterwards, before following that up with an EP and their second album late last year. So while this release via Metal Blade won’t exactly be their debut, it will be their debut on a major label.
Set to feature 17 tracks including those from their self-released debut album and EP, complete with new mastering, there should be plenty for anyone hankering after some fresh retro/doom rock.
The band hopes the deal with Metal Blade will help them reach a wider audience and the album is penned in to be released on August 5 in North America (a European date is yet to be confirmed).
In the meantime, the fifth song from the album, entitled ‘The Grave’, is here for your enjoyment. Give it a listen!
