Melechesh Ashmedi, the mainman of Mesopotamian metallers Melechesh, has teamed up with Fernandes Guitars to produce a signature electric 12-string guitar.
.
The collaboration has resulted in the Vortex Scimitar flying V, a guitar featuring 24 frets, a through-neck made of maple, a single EMG-81 pickup, and 12 strings.
.
Ashmedi commented, saying: “The first time I played with a 12-string, I noticed that I could compose Melechesh tracks differently. New ideas started popping up and basically the 12-string opened new musical dimensions, so I was very glad when Fernandes took on this adventurous endeavor and now it is a reality.
.
“The octave sounds are subtle and great when playing power chords, single notes and fast riffling, to the extent that you get the feeling of a storm or an orchestra accompanying you while playing the Scimitar. Hopefully this will open new musical ideas in the extreme metal scenes.”
.
It has not yet been revealed when the guitar will become available to purchase.
.
Ashmedi demonstrated the axe at the annual National Association Of Music Merchants show in California last month.
