Heavy metal icon King Diamond has once again united in darkness with Metal Blade Records.

The label, which has served as Diamond and Mercyful Fate’s home on and off for the last two decades, has officially announced the signing of Diamond and will release his next three albums worldwide.

Commenting on the unholy union, Diamond had the following to say: “This is gonna be awesome! Another perfect piece of the puzzle. We have the full backup of Metal Blade, and there’s an understanding between us that goes much, much deeper than before.

“Our new business setup will noticeably benefit the fans in so many ways. You must have already noticed some of all the cool new stuff that is happening. Now we can’t wait to get out there and start touring again!”

Diamond’s last album, ‘Give Me Your Soul…Please’, was released five years ago and since then he has made select festival appearences at the likes of Sweden Rock and Hellfest, following his triple-bypass heart surgery.

The King will headline the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock in 2013.
