Serbian hard rock band KEYCHAIN, formed by members of black/death unit BANE, have recently recorded their debut single “These Empty Skies” and made it available for free download via Nocturne Magazine.
The band’s guitarist Branislav Panić offered ZT the following statement: “Personally, I feel that this is a great chance for me to present the other side of my musical creativity. Alter Rock is the thing that got me serious about music, and that was back in 1999. Now, after almost 15 years of listening to such bands as Soil, Seether, Theory Of A Deadman… I`m really excited to have the chance to do something similar myself.
In general, the influences are from all sides, but I`d say that definitely Nickelback and Pantera fans will find something they like in Keychain. Guitar-wise, I really try to bring back the bad-ass, bone-breaking Dimebag Darrell vibe in some riffs (may his soul rest in peace – best guitar player ever), while the general approach to the song writing are somewhat closer to Nickelback`s ‘The Long Road’ & ‘All The Right Reasons’ albums I`d say”.
