IN FLAMES MEMBERS LAUNCH MEAT AND METAL BOOK

Continuing the trend of metal musicians combining their love of extreme music with food and drink, Peter Iwers and Björn Gelotte of In Flames will be releasing a book detailing the story of Restaurant 2112.

Entitled ‘2112 – A Tale Of Meat And Metal’ the book was produced with the help of journalist Mattias Lindeblad and explores the journey they’ve taken, from getting Restaurant 2112 up and running to achieving its renowned status among metal and food fans alike.

Restaurant 2112 was opened by In Flames guitarist Peter Iwers and bassist Björn Gelotte and a couple of others back in 2011 and named after Rush’s 1976 album due to its clean sounding name and their collective love of the band.

Speaking about the book they said: “This book is the story about following your dreams, even though you’ve never ever set foot on the other side of the bar counter – a tale of meat and metal. The book will contain loads of interesting stories from not only Pete and Björn, but also friends of theirs such as Kerry King, Peter Stormare amongst others.”

The foreword to the book was written by Hollywood star and In Flames fan Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Armageddon) and features plenty of interesting stories about the Gothenburg restaurant from various other friends and musicians.

Another famous fan of the band and restaurant who appears in the book is Slayer’s Kerry King, who said: “It’s nice to see a couple of my friends in the biz doing well at something else. Now we have a great place for some drinks!”

2112 – A Tale Of Meat And Metal is out on May 30 and available to order here.
