Green Carnation will play a special show on 31 April 2014. Deep into the mountains in South Norway, the cult band will reunite for their conceptual show Another Night Under The Dam.
Green Carnation, play a strange, otherworldly form of prog-rock with creepy atmospheres of doom. Having breathed for a year between 1990-1991 and reformed in 1998, Green Carnation came both before and after In The Woods…. with members featuring in both bands. In 2007, and with no remaining In The Woods… members, Green Carnation played their last major gig before splitting up. That show was called A Night Under The Dam and it was later released on DVD to celebrate the demise of the band. Now, seven years later, Green Carnation are getting back together, in the same location, for their comeback show.
“The first Under The Dam was a very special evening for us. People from USA, Italy, Netherlands, Ireland and a few more countries found their way deep into the Norwegian mountains. We hope to create something very unique again. It wasn’t really an option to redo exactly what we did last time, and we will be working hard to give the audience more than they expect”, guitarist and founding member Tchort (also in Carpathian Forest) says.
“This is not something that has been in the pipeline at all. I think neither of us really expected ever to get together as Green Carnation again. But when we had a chance to play Under The Dam again, we sat down, discussed the possibilities and it was soon clear that this was something we were all very much up for. We are all in a different stage of our lives now, and simply cannot wait to work creatively together again”, singer Kjetil Nordhus (also in Tristania) says.
