Jimmy Bain, the former bassist of Rainbow and Dio, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank, California police department spoke to press recently stating that Bain, 64, “was making a left out of the Fry’s Home Electronics store parking lot in his 1995 green Toyota Camry on to westbound Vanowen Street, near Hollywood Way, about 9 p.m. Tuesday night (August 28) when he pulled in front of another vehicle, causing a collision”.

Police administered a field sobriety test, but Bain “failed to satisfactorily pass it”. The officers also discovered he was in possession of Vicodin pills without a valid prescription.

Bain, who had an outstanding felony warrant for drugs, was arrested “on suspicion of DUI, possessing narcotic pills and the outstanding warrant”. He was released on Wednesday after posting $60,000 bail.

The bassist is scheduled to appear in an LA court on September 19th.
