FIREBORN VS. ENTOMBED: THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME

For the people currently or previously in the legendary death metal band Entombed, things are moving in strange directions. The band recently split into Entombed and Entombed A.D. News from both camps are coming out fast.

To begin with, the band Entombed A.D. no longer exists. No, LG Petrov has not returned- but he did change the name of his band to Fireborn. The lineup includes ex-Entombed bassist Victor Brandt (also in Dominion) on guitar, Fredrik Folkare of Unleashed and Necrophobic on guitar, and Alex Friberg of Necrophobic on bass. The band is still looking for a drummer. Fireborn label their music ‘dedication discipline death metal’ and you can hear two demo tracks below.

Meanwhile, sole Entombed member Alex Hellid invites everyone to be involved with his music. The post on Entombed’s Facebook page reads: “Here are three instrumental demos. Take them and do something…add your own flavor…lay down the vocals…be the voice…remix…cut it up…add samples…do an animation…shoot a video clip…anything…and let us see it! Then post here on our Facebook page. We have some very special merchandise for the ones we think are the most creative. Alex”

Last but not least, the album Back To The Front, which was expected in 2014 is no longer listed in the Entombed catalogue at metal-archives.com. Leaked tracks have also been removed from YouTube and the band has not yet commented on this album’s future.

In the meantime, you may as well check out Fireborn’s demos!
