Hankies at the ready, people: former Iron Maiden frontman Paul Di’Anno has just announced the date of his last ever live UK show.
Last July, Di’Anno, who was a member of Maiden from 1978-81 and sang on the band’s first two albums, announced his intention to retire from live performance at the end of 2013.
And it turns out that the Cockney geezer’s only going to say one last goodbye to his British fans as part of his year-long farewell world tour.
The 54-year-old Killers singer just issued the following statement on Facebook.
“The one and only UK show in 2013, is going to be on the last weekend of November, alongside Blaze Bayley, at the Hard Rock Hell festival.
“Apparently, it will sell out within a week or two, so if you wanna see this show, then you have a limited time to get your tickets.
“Me and Blaze are gonna give you a bit of a treat too!”
The 2013 Hard Rock Hell festival is taking place from Thursday 28 November to Sunday 1 December at the Hafan Y Môr Holiday Park in Gwynedd, North Wales, and it hasn’t yet been announced (or at least not on the festival’s official website), which evening Paul will be taking to the stage.
So, there you are – your last chance to hear Running Free bawled out by the man who did it before Bruce Dickinson…
If you’ve not seen or heard Paul in a while, here’s a fairly recent vid of him performing live in Poland:
