EPHEL DUATH SIGN TO AGONIA RECORDS

Formerly Italian, currently US-based band EPHEL DUATH, known as a modern mixture of avant-garde metal and progressive rock with jazz-fusion and hardcore punk elements, has inked a worldwide deal with Poland’s Agonia Records for the release of an EP and two full-length albums.

Guitarist and songwriter Davide Tiso gave ZT an exclusive insight into what’s behind the corner: “I’m thrilled to write a new chapter in Ephel Duath’s book, together with Agonia Records, a label that believes in the band simply as much as I do. A new EP, due in Spring 2012, will represent the best way to celebrate Ephel Duath’s comeback and this new communion. Three new songs that will be followed by two new albums in the next two years, with the pride of continuing to write music that asks questions instead of giving simple, reassuring answers. Ephel Duath is back and will raise the bar of what it has reached so far. I feel that around 2005 I found the perfect dimension for the band, a state I momentarily abandoned with the last album ‘Through My Dog’s Eyes’, to explore deeper melody and classic song structure. The new material starts where 2005 ‘Pain Necessary to Know’ finished and will develop what that album grasped. Expect oblique pieces of music that shine in their unbalanced form, featuring the best musicianship and line up the band ever had. I can’t wait for you to listen”.

The upcoming EP is going to be recorded in January 2012 at Sharkbyte Studios in Oakland, California. Erik Rutan will do the mixing at his Mana Recording Studio, and Alan Douches will master the material at West West Side Music in New York. More news will follow shortly.
