DUTCH POLITICIAN ATTACKS CARACH ANGREN

Carach AngrenSymphonic black metallers Carach Angren have come under attack from the Dutch political organisation ChristenUnie.

Henk Stoffels of ChristenUnie has called for Carach Angren’s scheduled appearance at P60 in Amstelveen on December 24th to be cancelled, stating that the “satanic” band’s “demonic music would lead the youth astray”.

In response, Carach Angren commented: “We are not and have never been a Satanic black metal outfit. We are a horror metal band telling supernatural stories on our albums and during our theatrical live performances.

The story has been reported widely in the Dutch media, with most outlets condemning ChristenUnie’s opportunistic attempt to suppress free speech. And, to show that they don’t hold grudges, Carach Angren sent Henk Stoffels a copy of their latest album This Is No Fairytale, along with a lollipop.

Carach Angren will join Fleshgod Apocalypse on their King European Tour in January 2017.
