Dio’s classic debut LP, ‘Holy Diver’, is to be released this month in a newly remastered edition.
.
Utilising the original analogue Sound City mix tapes from 1983, and the mastering proficiency of distinguished music restoration specialist Steve Hoffman, the new edition should be a considerable improvement on the quality of past releases.
.
Audio Fidelity, the specialty record label who deals in the restoration of classic releases, will put out ‘Holy Diver’ as part of its ‘24K Gold Compact Disc’ series.
.
The CD features the two-page photo spread that lined the original vinyl, including pictures from both Rainbow and Black Sabbath days.
.
The milestone album, recorded in early 1983 and produced by Ronnie James Dio himself, includes the seminal anthems ‘Holy Diver’, ‘Stand Up And Shout’, and ‘Rainbow In The Dark’.
.
Often seen as Dio’s finest hour, the album eventually reached platinum in America alone.
