The Days of the Doomed Festival will be returning for its second round on 15-16 June in Cudahy, WI (a suburb of Milwaukee, WI). Festival organizers are proud to announce that this year’s bill will include the debut gig of The Skull, which is comprised of former Trouble members Eric Wagner, Jeff “Oly” Olson, and Ron Holzner. Described via the band’s Facebook page, “THE SKULL is here to do one thing… rock you with the sounds and spirit of TROUBLE — past, present, future.” The foundations for The Skull came from last year’s Days of the Doomed fest, which saw members of Trouble joining together on stage during Olson’s Retro Grave set to perform a number of Trouble songs.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Ben Yaker, bassist for Sanctus Bellum said “We’re really excited to be a part of Days of the Doomed II. I went to the last one just as a fan and I was really impressed with how well Mike (Smith, organizer) ran it; it was one of the most organized festivals I’ve seen in a while. The lineup this year looks even better than what he had last year, which is no small statement. Highlights for me would include The Skull, Apostle of Solitude, Revelation, Argus, Earthride… I’d better stop there or I’ll wind up listing the whole lineup.”
Also included will be the reactivated stoner-rock band Solace, returning nearly one year after announcing via their Facebook page that they were ‘closed for business.’ Commenting on this reformation, Yaker says that Solace is “the band I’m most looking forward to this year. They’re one of my all-time favorites and they put on one of the heaviest shows I’ve ever seen.”
