BLOODSTOCK 2014: MORE BANDS ADDED TO THE BILL!

With early signs of the British summer making itself apparent (and only three months until this year’s event), the top dogs at Bloodstock Festival have graced us with yet another band announcement!

.

First off, joining the main stage line up on Friday is the mighty Triptykon! Having recently released their much anticipated second album, Melana Chasmata, the band, fronted by Thomas Gabriel Fischer (of Hellhammer/Celtic Frost fame), make their second appearance at Catton Park, after delivering a crushing performance back in 2011.

.

In addition to this, four more bands have been slated for the Sophie Lancaster stage. Joining the festival for the first time, on the Thursday night, are East Sussex’s Jaldaboath, who will bring their bonkers ‘hammering heraldic metal’ to the party! Saturday sees experimental/multi-genre metal outfit Obsidian Kingdom, from Barcelona, also mark a festival first.

.

British black/death metal newcomers, Stahlsarg, join Sunday’s line up on the Sophie stage. The five piece are currently working on their debut album, which is set for a 2015 release. Along with them, is another Sunday addition in the form of Northern Ireland’s Stormzone. These classic metallers released their most recent album, Three Kings, back in 2013 to much acclaim.

.

With the three headliners confirmed for 2014, the event is shaping up to be killer. Friday night’s bill toppers are NOLA kings, Down. Joining them to close proceedings on Saturday are black metal legends Emperor, and to play us out on Sunday are thrash titans Megadeth. Other acts billed so far include Carcass, Primordial, Lacuna Coil, Amon Amarth, Obituary, Crowbar, Hatebreed, Prong, Children Of Bodom, Saxon, Primordial, Decapitated, Flotsam & Jetsam, Biohazard, Revamp, Orphaned Land, Aborted, Rotting Christ, Satan, Sister Sin and many more! Further band announcements are to follow shortly, so watch this space!

.

Bloodstock is held at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 7th-10th August 2014. Tickets for 2014′s event are on sale now. Buy your tickets now using this link.
