AT THE GATES TO HEADLINE DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2015

damSwedish melodic death metal legends At The Gates have been announced as the headliner for Leeds’ Damnation Festival, in their only UK show of 2015.

So far they are the only act announced for the eleventh edition of the festival, which takes place on Saturday November 7 at Leeds University Union. There are still another 26 bands to be unveiled before then, across four stages, and given past installments there are sure to be some more tasty announcements.

The band said: “We are very happy to announce that At The Gates will be a part of the Damnation Festival 2015. Especially fun to be back on Yorkshire soil where it all started back in the day on Deaf/Peaceville Records. See you there folks!”

After last year’s sold-out Damnation there were a few complaints from fans about over-crowding, especially for anyone who struggled to get in and see Cannibal Corpse. Damnation have listened and reduced the capacity for this year’s event to tackle the issue, as well as keeping ticket prices the same at £36.

Festival director Gavin McInally said: “We plan to, once again, deliver the best line-up of music the UK will see this year at a cost to our fans which is also unrivaled, and having At The Gates as our first announcement, can be taken as a statement of our intent for 2015.

“Our capacity has been decreased, our ticket prices will remain the same and by the time we’ve completed our four stages we fully expect another sold out day of Damnation this November.”

Damnation Festival takes place on Saturday November 7 at Leeds University Union. Tickets cost £36 and are available online here.
