ARGUS TAKING A MORE AGGRESSIVE APPROACH

US, Western Pennsylvania’s purveyors of heavy metal, ARGUS, are preparing to enter the studio in late May to record their third full-length album, “Beyond The Martyrs”. Harnessing momentum generated by the band’s 2011 release, “Boldly Stride The Doomed”, the guys have been busy for the past 6 months assembling a new regiment of tracks (~10 songs) that will once again showcase the Argus sound and the powerful vocals of Brian “Butch” Balich.

The band’s drummer Kevin Latchaw reveals: “Musically, the new album will continue to meld traditional elements of metal with doom atmospheres – however, many of the newer tracks illustrate a more up-tempo/aggressive approach to the songwriting. ‘Beyond The Martyrs” will be recorded at Soundscape Studios in Pittsburgh with the band’s partner in metal wizardry – Mr. Dave ‘Randy’ Watson at the helm as engineer/producer. Artwork for the album will also follow tradition of the first two full-lengths with ‘The Master’, Brad Moore, gracing the gatefold layout with his surreal distortions and horrorific landscapes. Updates on the album’s progress will be posted periodically on the ARGUS website (www.argusmetal.com) in anticipation of a Fall 2012 release via Cruz Del Sur Music”.

Upcoming Argus live dates include appearances at Dublin Doom Days (Ireland), Days of the Doomed II festival (Milwaukee, WI) and Warriors of Metal festival (Pataskala, OH).
