PARADISE LOST SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM MEDUSA IN SUMMER 2017

Legendary misery merchants Paradise Lost have announced that their latest album is due for release via Nuclear Blast towards the end of the summer and will be titled Medusa. As with their previous album The Plague Within, the band has recorded at England’s Orgone Studios with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano. Guitarist/songwriter Greg Mackintosh states that “the new album will be slower, sludgier and more doom-filled than ever before. Eight riff-laden monster tracks of sheer northern misery.” 2015’s The Plague Within enjoyed a positive response for its reintroduction of death metal elements into the band’s modern...

ITALY’S DESTRAGE STARE AT THE EDGE AS THEY ANSWER A QUICK-FIRE ROUND OF QUESTIONS…

Italy’s Destrage have been busy as a band for quite a stretch, so in a moment of brief down-time we popped a few quick questions about their latest release for Metal Blade Records to frontman Paolo Colavolpe. Describe Destrage in no more than 5 words: Destroy, Create, Transform, Sublimate. What’s the general theme on A Means To No End? Give it a use and spoil its value. Give it a mean and curse it to an end. Means are intended to connect, to channel, not to stand on their own. By simply subverting the saying ‘A Means To An End’, a new world of meaning opens. Our intention has been purposeful all our lives so far. We...

PALE KING ARE STREAMING THEIR ENTIRE DEBUT ALBUM RIGHT HERE!

We’ve joined forces with Holland’s Soulseller Records to give you the chance to listen to the debut album from Sweden’s Pale King! The band was started in 2016 by Wombbath members Jonny Pettersson and Håkan Stuvemark with the aim to create melodic death metal with an old-school feel, blending influences from bands such as early Paradise Lost, Amorphis, Eucharist and Unanimated. Shortly after recruiting Hannah Gill [Bass] and Jon Rudin [Drums], they recorded a demo that led directly to their deal with Soulseller Records and the work on their debut full-length release Monolith Of The Malign – which you can listen to...

BASEMENT TORTURE KILLINGS ON THEIR BERYL RITUALS

Having just released their third ‘killer’ album and celebrating ten years in the business this year, we caught up with Basement Torture Killings for their sick and twisted celebrations. It’s not been an easy few years for Basement Torture Killings since their last release, 2014’s A Night Of Brutal Torture. Three-quarters of the band have gone missing (probably best not to ask any questions) and there were other issues in between. Yet sole survivor (and guitarist) Tarquin managed to assemble a fresh trio to join the BTK ranks, including new vocalist Beryl, whom their third album is named after. We spoke to Tarquin about the new...

ALAN AVERILL’S VIEW FROM THE ONLINE BUNKER: WEST SIDE STORY

With very few exceptions, every issue of Zero Tolerance over the past 6 – 7 years has featured Alan ‘Nemtheanga’ Averill’s column (yes, that loud mouth from Primordial, Dread Sovereign and other degenerate bands); from recounting the weird and sometimes hilarious experiences of his globe-trotting as he tours the world with his bands – to social commentary, the man at the front has something to say about, well, just about everything. Some of it you might like, some you might hate – some might go right over your head or give you an involuntary facepalm, we don’t really think he cares – but...
