ZT have partnered with Eisenwald to bring you a first look at this majestic live performance from the dark, enigmatic Solbrud.
Speaking about the live performance, the band explain “We played a specially arranged set at the colossal Brønshøj Vandtårn for two sold-out nights in a row and recorded both shows – audio and video – for a live double album that is now being released by Eisenwald.
“With the extreme acoustic properties inside the tower – fifteen(!) seconds of physical reverberation – it is quite a mesmerizing experience to step inside the huge concrete cylinder, while its massive towering beams reach up 34 meters above you.
“We set up our equipment around the centre of the tower, thus allowing the audience to circle the premises for a change in visual and indeed auditory perception of the performance, as the water towers reverb would increase, the further away from the sound sources you found yourself. To also capture this unique reverberance of our concert, we installed microphones along the spiral staircase leading towards the towers peak.
“Topping off the otherworldly experience of these November nights, the temperature inside the tower was little above zero, resulting in visible breath and freezing instruments.”
