ZT have teamed up with our friends at Listenable Records to bring you an exclusive listen to a brand new track from Waylander from their upcoming album Ériú’s Wheel.

Speaking on the track, frontman Ciaran states “‘Autumnal Blaze’ – The second of the three harvest Festivals where time is taken to celebrate the bounty the Goddess of the land has bestowed. The hours of darkness has increased to equal that of daylight, the cold is returning and the leaves begin to fade and fall”

After their second demo entitled Dawning of a New Age  in 1996 Waylander gained a prominent position in the fledgling folk metal scene thanks also to the addition of a full time tin-whistle player in the line-up.

Such position was cemented when Waylander released their debut album Reawakening Pride Once Lost in 1998. After overcoming some line-up changes, the band ’s sophomore album, The Light, the Dark and the Endless Knot was released in 2001.

In 2008 Waylander signed to Listenable Records and released their acclaimed third album, Honour Amongst Chaos, which received a fantastic reaction worldwide. This set the tone for their fourth studio release, Kindred Spirits which is claimed to be the bands strongest work to date and helped push their sound to a much heavier and more distinctive place.

The band once again entered Stone Circle studios, recording their 5th full-length album entitled Ériú’s Wheel. This is Waylander’s first concept album which will bring the listener on a journey through the wheel of the Pagan year, beginning at Samhain and ending at the Autumn Equinox.

The 9 compositions will encapsulate the atmosphere of the changing seasons as well as the celebratory yet solemn vibe of the four fire festivals, solstices and equinox.

Release date March 22nd.
