Wattie Buchan, singer for the British punk-legends The Exploited suffered a heart attack on stage during the band’s concert on Thursday 13 February 2014. The Exploited have been forced to cancel their forthcoming tour dates and cease all activities until May 2014.
The Exploited formed in 1980 and were one of the most aggressive and vitriolic bands back then. The line-up changes have been commonplace in the band, but Wattie Buchan remained a constant leader. He suffered the heart attack in Lisbon, Portugal during the “Tour Of Chaos” with Hatebreed and Napalm Death.
The Exploited stated on their facebook page: “We are sorry to say that due to a severe illness that Wattie can’t continue with the tour. He will be in hospital for at least a week. Thanks for all the get-well messages. Much appreciated. Regards.”
