The arrival of Pillorian (ex-Agalloch | Uada)

It seems that the name Agalloch was on everyone’s lips a short while ago as they announced their split to an unsuspecting world.

But in just a few short weeks the world has already seen 3/4 of what was once Agalloch announce their new band Khôrada, and now the Agalloch frontman – John Haughm – steps forth with new entity Pillorian.

The band features Stephen Parker (Maestus/ex-Arkhum), John Haughm (ex-Agalloch), and Trevor Matthews (Uada/ex-Infernus), and have recently signed to Eisenwald, who will release their debut album in early 2017.

Exploring the context of obscurity, Pillorian takes inspiration from blackened metal, dark folk, and avantgarde music. Adding something ancient that hovers within the music and its somber aura.

Recording plans are set for this Autumn/Winter, with further information to be revealed in the not too distant future…
