Shining have inked a deal with Spinefarm Records and have announced that the forthcoming release, ‘VII/Fodd Forlorare’, will be released via their new label on 25th May 2011.
Mainman, Niklas Kvarforth, stresses that there is no bad blood between the band and their previous label, Indie Records. “We sat down together and talked everything through, and everyone came to the conclusion that the best way for Shining to grow and develop would be to sign the band to a label with the size and experience of Spinefarm. I would like to thank Indie for putting the interests of the band first and allowing this to deal to happen”.
Regarding the new album release, Kvarforth states; “‘VII / Född Förlorare’ has been long in coming due to a series of unfortunate delays, none of which had anything to do with Indie, and it is a relief to all of us that it will finally see the light of day. I personally am extremely happy to be working with Spinefarm’s Teemu, and am confident that Shining will now be able to go from strength to strength”.
This news comes after Kvarforth announced that he is quitting all his other projects, with the exception of Maniac’s SKITLIV, throwing all of his efforts into Shining.
