OPETH’S ÅKERFELDT HOSPITALISED

Update: Contradictory to the information we received yesterday, Åkerfeldt merely got a bump to the head when stumbling in the tour bus. His arm is fine.

Following rumors of King Diamond’s car crash (now proved to have been rubbish), yet another big name in the metal scene is said to have been part of such accident. Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt has allegedly been hospitalized after breaking his arm in a collision. Opeth has subsequently cancelled their performance in Myth, Minnesota tonight. No official statement has been issued, however, Åkerfeldt is said to be fine and planning a return into action soon (potentially later on during the tour). Mastodon and Ghost, the two acts touring alongside Opeth will be playing extended sets at tonight’s event.
